Description

The Howarth Tenoroon is a smaller, lighter bassoon in F designed to let younger players start the bassoon family earlier—without learning a different fingering approach. With near-identical keywork to a standard bassoon, a reduced reach, and a weight around 1.25 kg, it gives developing players the feel, sound, and technique pathway they’ll use as they progress to full-size instruments.

Key Features

  • Instrument in F (Quartfagott): Sounds a fourth higher than a full-size bassoon; ideal for children’s hands and breath support.

  • Matured mountain maple body: CNC-crafted for precision and consistency; matt-finish synthetic lacquer for durability.

  • Ebonite-lined bores & tone holes: Stability and longevity with clean response.

  • Silver-plated keywork with whisper key and F–A♭ roller (RH little finger) for smooth technique.

  • Stainless steel flat springs, axles, and pointed screws for reliability.

  • Lightweight (approx. 1.25 kg): About one-third the weight of a full-size Howarth bassoon.

  • Ready-to-play outfit: Supplied with crook, mini case, hand rest, sling, silk cleaning mops, and cork grease.

Why Choose the Howarth Tenoroon

  • Authentic bassoon pathway: Real bassoon ergonomics and keywork, so skills transfer directly when moving up.

  • Comfort for smaller players: Reduced size and weight encourage proper posture and technique from day one.

  • Built to last: Quality materials and robust mechanics withstand school, ensemble, and daily practice demands.

  • Trusted maker: Howarth’s woodwind expertise shows in intonation, feel, and dependable build quality.
