The YM-5100A Marimba, 5 Octaves, takes inspiration from the YM-6000 Concert Grand Marimba, incorporating lessons from renowned players and utilizing top-quality craftsmanship and materials. The exclusive Yamaha tuning method ensures accurate pitch and a rich, traditional sound, while the Rosewood bars provide a warm and full tone. The cut-away design of the resonators, featuring a 3-position tracking system, allows for easy adjustment of pitch and tone, while also providing strength and reducing overall weight. The use of nut/bolt and welded resonators with denser alloys and thicker walls contributes to a maximized tone with no unwanted rattling. Graduated bars ensure a consistent and powerful sound throughout the instrument's range. With an easily adjustable frame and hinged resonators and rails, as well as oversized 4" casters, the YM-5100A offers convenience and ease of transport.
