The YM-4900A combines knowledge gleaned from renowned musicians with top-notch workmanship and cutting-edge materials to deliver a resonant, perfectly-tuned marimba. Equipped with a premium Yamaha tuning method, the rosewood bars produce a rich, traditional sound. The cut-away design of the resonators, featuring a 3-position tracking system, allows for adjustable resonator height and tone control while adding durability and reducing weight. Nut/bolt and welded resonators, crafted from denser alloys and thicker walls, ensure a flawless tone and prevent any unwanted rattling during play. Graduated bars maintain consistent projection and fullness across the entire range of the instrument. The frame can be easily adjusted to a comfortable height using pneumatic struts, and the hinged resonators, rails, and two-piece crossbar make for effortless breakdown. For smooth transport, oversized 4" casters are included for easy maneuvering over rugged terrain.
