This Remo Ambassador Coated Pro Pack includes 10", 12" and 16" coated heads for your toms, plus a 14" Coated Ambassador for your snare. It is a great replacement head pack for a standard rock-sized setup, especially if your current heads are sounding tired, flat or too plasticky.
Ambassador Coated heads are one of those drumheads that have been around forever because they just work. They are not overly dead, not too ringy, and not locked into one style of music. They give you a proper drum sound — warm, bright, open and easy to tune.
What Do They Actually Sound Like?
Compared with clear heads, coated heads take a little edge off the attack and add a slightly warmer, more rounded tone. You still get brightness and response, but the sound feels a bit more controlled and natural under the stick.
The Ambassador Coated is a single-ply 10-mil head, so it has more openness and sustain than a heavier two-ply head like an Emperor or Pinstripe. That makes it a great choice if you want your toms to breathe, rather than sounding overly dampened or choked.
On toms, they give a warm, resonant tone with plenty of life. On snare, the 14" Coated Ambassador gives you that familiar crisp attack, nice brush response and enough body for general playing, rehearsal, recording and live use.
