Description

The Remo PP-2252-SN Silentstroke Tom Pack is a set of low-volume mesh drumheads for 10", 12" and 14" toms.

These are a really useful option if you want to practise on your acoustic kit without the full acoustic drum volume. Instead of swapping to rubber pads or a separate practice kit, you can fit Silentstroke heads to your toms and keep the feel of playing real drum shells, just at a much lower volume.

They are especially handy for home practice, teaching rooms, rehearsal spaces, flats, shared houses and anywhere normal drum volume is a problem.

What Do They Actually Sound Like?

Silentstroke heads are not designed to sound like normal coated or clear drumheads.

They are mesh heads, so the sound is much quieter, softer and more controlled. You still hear the stick contact and some tone from the drum, but the volume is massively reduced compared with regular acoustic heads.

The feel is soft and springy, with more rebound than a standard acoustic head. That makes them comfortable for practice, especially if you are working on sticking, fills, movement around the kit and timing without needing the full drum sound.

What Is Included in This Pack?

This pack includes the tom sizes most commonly used on a fusion-style drum kit:

10" Silentstroke tom head
12" Silentstroke tom head
14" Silentstroke tom head

That makes it a good match for kits with 10", 12" and 14" toms, or for players who want to convert their toms to a quieter practice setup.

Good for Quiet Acoustic Kit Practice

Silentstroke heads are a simple way to make an acoustic kit more practice-friendly.

You keep your normal drum layout, pedal positions, cymbal positions and muscle memory, but the toms become much quieter. Pair them with a quiet snare setup, a low-volume bass drum head and low-volume cymbals, and you can turn a normal acoustic kit into a much more manageable practice kit.

They are also useful for teachers and schools where students need to practise technique without creating full drum kit volume all the time.

Who Is It For?

This pack is ideal for drummers who want to practise at lower volume on a real acoustic drum kit.

It suits home players, students, teachers, schools, rehearsal rooms and anyone who wants to reduce tom volume without buying a full electronic kit.

If you want full acoustic drum tone for recording or live performance, these are not the right heads for that job. But if you want quieter toms for practice while keeping a real drum kit feel, the Remo Silentstroke tom pack is a very sensible choice.

Please Note

Silentstroke heads are designed for low-volume practice and do not produce the same tone, attack or projection as standard acoustic drumheads.

They are best used as practice heads rather than performance heads. For a complete quiet practice setup, you may also want to use low-volume cymbals and a quieter snare or bass drum head.

Not Sure If These Are the Right Drumheads?

This pack is a good choice if your kit uses 10", 12" and 14" toms and you want to reduce volume for practice.

If your tom sizes are different, you will need a different pack or individual Silentstroke heads. If you want normal acoustic drum sound for gigs or recording, look at Remo Ambassador, Emperor, Pinstripe or other standard acoustic heads instead.

If you are unsure which drumhead sizes you need, measure the diameter of each drum shell or check the sizes printed on your current drumheads.
