There's a reason the Telecaster has barely changed in seventy years. It works. Simple controls, a direct sound, a neck that feels familiar within minutes — and this one has the classic 3-Color Sunburst finish and maple board combination that looks exactly right on a Tele.

It's a Mexican Player Series model, which puts it in the sweet spot between budget and American-made Fender territory. You get the real thing — alder body, maple neck, 25.5" scale, proper Tele bridge with block steel saddles — without the price tag of a US-built guitar.

The previous owner has also done something useful with it: the stock pickups have been swapped out for Fender Tex-Mex Telecaster single-coils, which have a bit more bite and output than the standard Player Series units. The original pickups are included with the guitar, so if you ever want to put it back to factory spec, you can.

What Does It Sound Like?

Still very much a Telecaster — bright, snappy, direct. The Tex-Mex pickups just push that character a little further. The bridge position has real presence and cut, the neck is warmer and rounder for cleaner playing, and the middle position gives you a useful in-between tone for rhythm work. It's the kind of guitar that sounds right in almost any context — country, indie, blues, classic rock, soul, studio sessions — because that's what a Telecaster does.

If you've been playing a budget guitar and want to step up to something that feels and sounds like a proper instrument, this is a very natural next move.

Condition

Good pre-owned condition overall — it's been played and it shows it, but nothing here is serious or surprising for a used guitar.

From the photos, the main things to be aware of:

• A small ding/mark on the front near the bridge
• A more noticeable chip to the edge near the upper horn and strap button
• Light surface marks and small scratches across the body
• Normal handling wear to the gloss finish
• Hardware shows light signs of use but looks fine overall
• Maple neck and fingerboard look tidy
• Back of the body presents well with light general wear

The larger chip is clearly shown in the listing photos so you can see exactly what you're getting before you buy. The sunburst finish still looks good and the guitar photographs well overall.
