Pearl Export EXX Drum Kit – Graphite Silver Twist

The Pearl Export has been one of the world's most-played drum kits since 1984, and for good reason. It's built to a standard that developing players, educators and school programmes have trusted for decades — warm, punchy shells, reliable hardware, and a finish that looks smart on stage and in a rehearsal room. This Graphite Silver Twist version is available in two configurations: a 20" bass drum setup for younger players or tighter spaces, and a 22" bass drum version for a fuller, more powerful low end.

Both configurations come complete with Pearl's HWP-834 hardware pack and a Sabian PX cymbal set — a genuinely capable set of cymbals that steps things up from the basic brass offerings typically bundled with kits at this level. Everything you need to sit down and start playing is in the box, with the exception of a drum throne which you'll need to source separately.

The Shells

The 6-ply poplar shells formed with Pearl's SST process and proprietary AcoustiGlue give the Export EXX its characteristic warm, punchy tone with resonant highs and powerful low end. The 14"x5.5" snare drum features a 6-ply poplar shell with an SR700 throw-off for smooth, efficient action and added sensitivity control. Pearl's Opti-Loc tom mounting system provides three-point tom isolation, keeping the toms locked securely without adding unnecessary dampening, allowing more of the drum's natural sustain to come through. Pearl's 7/8" geared, locking tom arms deliver stable, solid positioning, and 45° bearing edges give the shells superbly articulate sensitivity and enriched tonal spread.

Sabian PX Cymbals

The included Sabian PX cymbal set is a meaningful step up from the basic brass packs bundled with many entry-level kits. PX cymbals are designed to deliver balanced, usable tone across the full range — the 14" hi-hats respond well at different playing dynamics, the 16" crash opens up cleanly without being harsh, and the 20" ride gives you a defined, clear bow tone for keeping time. For a developing drummer, having cymbals that genuinely sound musical makes a real difference to the playing experience.

HWP-834 Hardware Pack

The included hardware pack covers everything you need to set the kit up — hi-hat stand (H-830), snare stand (S-830), two cymbal boom stands (BC-830), and a P-930 Demon-style bass drum pedal with ultra-fast chain-drive action. All stands feature double-braced trident-style tripod bases for a solid, reliable foundation, with Uni-Lock tilters delivering smooth, gearless positioning at any angle.

20" or 22" — Which Should You Choose?

The 20" configuration (EXX705NBR/C778) is a strong choice for younger players, smaller rooms and tighter stage setups where a large bass drum would be impractical. The 22" configuration (EXX725SBR/C778) gives you a bigger, fuller low end and is the more traditional choice for anyone playing in a band context or looking for that classic, powerful kick drum sound.
