Nickel Drumworks Snare Throw-Off - Black

This Nickel Drumworks snare throw-off is a replacement snare strainer for fitting to a snare drum shell, finished in black / chrome.

It is a direct replacement for the plastic throw-off previously manufactured by Nickelworks - found on the Premier Modern Classic snare drums and many others/

The black style finish makes it a good choice for drums with darker hardware or custom builds where a standard chrome throw-off would not match.

What Is It Actually For?

A snare throw-off is the mechanism on the side of a snare drum that controls the snare wires.

When the throw-off is engaged, the snare wires sit against the bottom head to give the drum its snare response. When disengaged, the wires move away from the head for a tom-like sound.

If your current throw-off is damaged, stiff, unreliable or no longer holding the snare wires properly, replacing it can help restore the drum’s normal function.
