Description

The Meinl SB115 is the Concert SD4 model from the Meinl Stick & Brush range, made from hard maple for a light, controlled feel.

This is a medium-thin stick designed for a wide range of playing, but it is especially useful when volume control matters. The hard maple construction keeps the stick light in the hand, while the thicker shoulder gives it a solid feel and good response.

With a barrel tip, medium taper and lightweight feel, the SB115 is a good choice for concert playing, quieter drum kit work, lessons, practice and situations where you want articulation without overpowering the cymbals.

What Do They Actually Feel Like?

The SB115 feels light, controlled and responsive.

Compared with heavier hickory sticks, the hard maple construction gives a lighter touch, making it easier to play with more control at lower volumes. The medium taper helps keep the response balanced, while the thicker shoulder stops the stick from feeling too thin or flimsy.

It is a good option if you want a stick that feels precise without being heavy.

What Do They Actually Sound Like?

The barrel tip gives clear articulation on drums and cymbals.

Because the stick is made from light maple, it can give good definition without pushing the volume too hard. That makes it useful for concert settings, softer kit playing, ensemble work and practice where you need clarity but not too much weight or attack.

Who Are They For?

These sticks are suitable for drummers, percussionists, students, schools, concert bands, orchestras and teachers.

They are a good choice for players who want a lighter stick for controlled playing, especially in situations where a standard 5A or 5B feels too heavy or loud.

If you need a stick for very heavy rock playing, a hickory 5B or heavier model may be more suitable. If you want control, balance and lighter volume, the SB115 is a strong option.

Not Sure If These Are the Right Drumsticks?

The Meinl SB115 is a good choice if you want a light hard maple stick with a controlled feel and clear articulation.

If you need more durability and weight for louder playing, compare with a hickory model. If you want a lighter, more controlled stick for concert work, practice or quieter drum kit playing, the Concert SD4 is well worth considering.
