This beautiful 80cm ornate rainstick is a percussion instrument that can be classified as a shaken idiophone. A rainstick consists of a hollow tube that contains pebbles, beans or other small objects. When upended, the objects fall to the other end of the tube and make a noise that is reminiscent of rain falling.
