Description

The Gretsch GS1-THSL is a single tom holder for mounting a rack tom directly to a bass drum.

It is designed for players who want a clean, practical tom mounting setup without adding another separate stand to the floor. If you have a compatible Gretsch bass drum and rack tom, this holder lets you mount the tom from the bass drum in the traditional way, keeping the kit compact and tidy.

It is especially useful for Gretsch Catalina kits and the newer Renown Maple RN2 series.

What Is It Actually For?

This tom holder is used to mount a single rack tom to a bass drum.

The holder uses a 12.7mm L-rod, which is the size used across a lot of Gretsch tom mounting hardware. It also has the ability to take an additional rod, which can be useful if you want to add something like a cymbal arm or expand the setup without taking up more floor space.

It is a small hardware part, but it makes a big difference if you want your kit set up properly and securely.

Why Use a Bass Drum Tom Holder?

A bass drum-mounted tom holder keeps the setup simple.

Rather than using a separate tom stand or clamp system, the tom mounts directly from the bass drum. This can reduce floor clutter, make the kit easier to position, and keep everything feeling more traditional and familiar.

It is a good option if you want your rack tom positioned over the bass drum without adding extra stand legs around the kit.

Compatibility Note

The GS1-THSL is listed as fitting the Gretsch Catalina series and the newer Gretsch Renown Maple RN2 series.

As with all drum hardware, it is worth checking your bass drum mount and tom bracket before ordering, especially if you have an older kit or a non-standard setup.

The key measurement to check is the 12.7mm L-rod diameter.

Who Is It For?

This is a useful part for Gretsch players who need to replace a missing tom holder, complete a kit, or move back to a bass drum-mounted tom setup.

It is also handy if you have bought a shell pack or second-hand Gretsch kit that did not include the original tom holder.

If your kit uses a different tom mount size or a different mounting system, this may not be the correct part. But for compatible Gretsch Catalina and Renown Maple RN2 kits, the GS1-THSL is the right kind of holder to look at.

Not Sure If This Is the Right Tom Holder?

The Gretsch GS1-THSL is a good choice if you need a single tom holder for a compatible Gretsch Catalina or Renown Maple RN2 kit.

If you need to mount two toms, you may need a double tom holder instead. If your kit uses a different L-rod diameter or a different tom mounting system, this may not fit.

If you are replacing a missing tom holder and are not sure which Gretsch part you need, send us the kit model or a photo of the bass drum mount and we can help point you in the right direction.
